• What stood out for me was whole connection with ADHD "Epidemic" as compared to our out-dated educational system in all its productin line mentality. Wow! We really need to go in the opposite direction!
  • Agree, Agree, Agree Intellectual vs. Artistic Book vs. Arts One is not better than other.
  • There is not just one way to learn. I liked it!
  • So much of what we do is modeled on archaic systems, we need to address the needs of today's learners
  • Couldn't agree more Re: pushing drugs on ADHD kids My feeling is that same idea - too many people relying on drugs for a cure. Did not agree with putting different age levels together.
  • I totally agree that we don't bring the best out of our students. We prefer to keep some of the most creative within a structured, uncreative environment.
  • There are many ways to learn, not everyone fits into the public school mold.
  • No more production lines! Need: aesthetic experiences, creative thinking, collaboration
  • Success is connected with economy and culture of home. How is this being addressed? economy/cultural
  • Educating students in batches assembly line education
  • ...makes me think of how to encourage students to be "divergent thinkers" rather than there only being one answer- schools as factories
  • No solution ideas
  • Interesting, I showed this last night to my UOP grad. student teachers. Love it! I feel I'm a creative, divergent thinker and I'm completely uninvolved in any change in A.U.S.D.
  • We have models, like the A.N.S.A. program where non-industrial 21st century learning is happening. It would be great to value and share these programs.
  • History of education has dictated a stagnant model that we currently are "stuck" in
  • Most great thinking comes from a group activity > collaboration, not just one answer
  • The Arts are the Victims
  • Our current education system kills creative, divergent thinking. But how could this be possible- to teach kids in 100 different ways????
  • We need to change the way we teach!!
  • Problem solving and divergent thinking, most important - last 10-12 years have deleted this from curriculum
  • We have New Challenges and NEED New Paradigms
  • Collaboration is the stuff of learning
  • I completely agree with this video. Habitat of School + Habits of School = Student Creativity and Growth
  • Divergent thinking = more than one way to interpret the question/more than one answer
  • The part on divergent thinking was very enlightening! I feel like I could watch this again and again and get something more out of it each time.
  • I've thought about this presentation for a month. I can't quite state my final response. It's like it must collapse like a singularity and be reborn
  • I agree that ADHD and Bipolar are the diagnosis du jour
